MTN Nigeria has launched Phase 1 of its US$235 million Dabengwa Sifiso Data Centre in Lagos. The initial $100 million build features a 4.5MW IT load and 780 racks. The facility will reach 9MW capacity upon full development.
The investment positions MTN for the cloud race, offering IaaS and carrier-neutral hosting. Phase 2 ($135M) targets Tier IV certification and is essential for AI processing readiness in Nigeria.
This project places MTN at the forefront of Nigeria’s competitive data center market. The expansion reflects a critical demand for secure, high-uptime digital infrastructure across the West African region.
