President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, has commissioned the dualized and upgraded Ushafa to War College/Army Checkpoint roads and other ancillary roads in the Bwari Area Council of the FCT. During the event, the President stated that his administration is committed to changing the narrative of infrastructure development in Nigeria through the execution of tangible projects aimed at fostering inclusive growth.
The President described the road projects as a tangible expression of his administration’s commitment to sustainable development. The new 16.4 km dualized roads are expected to not only ease traffic congestion but also stimulate economic activities and improve residents’ access to education and healthcare.
A key highlight of the project is that it was awarded to an indigenous contractor. The President noted that this decision was a deliberate effort to build local capacity, create jobs, and foster a sense of community pride. He stressed that with the right support and enabling environment, Nigerian contractors are fully capable of delivering world-class infrastructure.
